The ducting itself was strong but the bends were not.
Direct replacement of failed unit. Same geometry and dimensions.
The Round 4" upvc solid Ducting works very well and easy to fit.

SF100 Fan is designed for the safe ventilation of bathrooms, toilets and shower rooms, these 100mm (4") in-line extractor fans remove any risk of an electric shock in wet areas as the fan is mounted remotely, all SL100TWC fans come with timer if this is not needed please see below how to wire it out.
Powerful, yet extremely quiet in operation, the extract rate is 100m³/hr (27 ltr/sec).
Available with timer, the fan kits are supplied complete with fan unit, one length of PVC flexible ducting 3m, one internal Grille and one external white wall grille, fixing screws, plugs and straps to secure the duct and the grilles.
The internal light grille comes with a white and chrome bezel that is easily changeable by twisting off. LED drive is also include to power the 3w LED
Timer Fans need a Live, Neutral and Switched live
Power is provided by a single phase motor long, maintenance-free life.
Please Note For Standard Model: If timer is not needed please link between Switched live and live with a small piece of wire or remove PCB.
Installation
The shower fan is easy to install in the average loft/ceiling as after the hole has been cut in the ceiling of the shower/room, all other work is continued outside the living area.

M Bond I've purchased this type of unit in the past and found it to work well. Hence, when I needed another unit for an en suite refurb, I've have again purchased a similar kit. This time, it will be to provide secondary, independent lighting over the shower cubicle, as well as extraction.
The kit comes with most of the necessary components supplied. However, there's no anti backdraught flap / valve (which is the reason for 4 stars). That's a fair enough omission as one is not always required. However, in my case. I'm venting through the roof and need something to prevent a cold draught blowing straight through into my otherwise nice warm facility.
I have yet to fit this kit (builder delays!) so cannot comment on the noise level or fan extraction efficiency of this particular unit but if it works as well as the other one I have fitted elsewhere, it should be fine.
I have got the version that allows the fan to be wired up for overrun and the time setting is adjustable (or can be disabled). For the price paid for this unit, it's a reasonable buy, with the only additional cost being for a suitable "non return valve".
The previous one I bought was fitted in a guest area and has had only periodic usage. Hopefully, this new unit will have a reasonable lifecycle as it will be in everyday use. Time will tell.
