Why choose continuous running fans?

Continuous running fans, like the Continuous range, have been designed to meet the requirements of the Building Regulations for bathrooms, kitchens, utility rooms and toilets (other models available).

The fan is designed to run all of the time, keeping homes fresh, healthy and free from condensation.

Model Information:

Standard

In the basic version, the fan must be connected to a separate switch for switching on/off the second gear and its reduction in continuous operation mode. When it needs to be switched off completely, a double switch must be used (not included in the product).

Timer

The SCT100 ECO dMEV Trickle Boost Fan has the ability to manually shift gears via a switch on the building's electrical installation. The fan can be connected via two different methods, and after resetting the switch to its original position, it will shift back to a lower gear after 30 minutes.

Humidity

The unit's controller regulates the speed of fans equipped with a humidity sensor (H), regardless of how it is connected. Should the humidity exceed 70%, the fan automatically shifts to its second gear. It returns to the first gear after 15 minutes when the humidity dips below 70%. To increase speed, a separate switch or a double switch' second key must be activated; after 15 minutes, it shifts back to the original setting.

PIR

Equipped with a motion sensor (PIR), the SCT100 ECO dMEV Trickle Boost Fan will switch to its second gear if it detects a presence in the room for more than 60 seconds. After 15 minutes without movement, the fan will drop its speed to the first gear.

What does it do?

The fan is designed to run continuously at a very low rate and boost automatically when required.

The low running rate means it has extremely low noise levels.

How will it help?

This fan will help prevent the build up of moisture in the home by removing steam and odours.

This will help reduce the risk of black mould forming on walls and behind cupboards.

220-240 V/AC. 50Hz single phase powering a low energy motor.

These fans are double insulated and do not require an earth.

All wiring must comply with current IEE regulations.

Continuous mechanical extract ventilation (MEV)can be either a whole house centralised MEV system, or localised decentralised MEV fan.

The centralised continuous MEV system is typically located in a loft space or hallway cupboard. Multiple ducts run from the unit to the kitchen, bathroom, ensuites and other wet rooms of a property to simultaneously draw moisture laden air from these wet rooms to control humidity levels.

Decentralised continuous MEV (dMEV) are individual room fans which operate continuously to draw moisture from either the bathroom, kitchen, utility room or other wet room. Continuous mechanical systems should include either manual or automatic controls (i.e. humidity sensors) to operate on between trickle and boost modes.

The minimum extract rates for continuous extract systems are shown here in Table 1.2 (Boost rate). The minimum whole dwelling ventilation rates by the number of bedrooms are shown in Table 1.3 (trickle rate for the whole dwelling).

Standard

The standard fan can be connected in two ways:

Continuous operation: In this mode, the fan will always be on. The second gear can be turned on and off using a separate switch installed in the power line.

Switchable: In this mode, the fan can be turned on and off completely. To do this, use a double switch, where each key controls a different gear.

Timer

Fans with a timer (T) can be connected in the same two ways as the standard fan. In addition, the timer allows you to set the fan to turn off after a certain amount of time. The default setting is 30 minutes, but this can be changed.

Humidity

Fans with a humidity sensor (H) will automatically switch to the second gear when the humidity level in the room exceeds 70%. The fan will switch back to the first gear after 15 minutes if the humidity level drops below 70%.

PIR

Fans with a motion sensor (R) will automatically switch to the second gear when they detect movement in the room. The fan will switch back to the first gear after 15 minutes if the motion sensor does not detect any movement.

Excellent continuous humidistat fan

Great product. Installation is simple enough. Fan works as described but at a considerable cheaper cost. Well worth the investment
